Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation Fair
DWF organized drinking water and sanitation fair under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) in every village Panchayats of district Lalitpur. With an aim to generate awareness and build perspective of the rural society, the team of DWF always keeps on distributing posters, pamphlets, leaflets, diaries, pens, calendars, etc, to the villagers. More than 33000 persons were participated from each block of the district. The main motive behind distributing such things to school children and villagers is that every house of the village can easily access such fruitful information about:
- Proper utilization of drinking water
- Maintenance and proper drainage of polluted water
- Killing of larva’s and eggs of mosquitoes near water sources using kerosene/motor oils
- Wash hand before and after eating
- Always use in-house toilet instead of going out in open areas, and so on.
In the fair, DWF also plays games with school children about safe drinking water and sanitation/cleanliness and awards gifts to them. School children are the future of our country, and this fair motivates them to learn the uses of water, health and hygiene benefits. This will help in changing the habits of their family as well. In this way, this fair found very useful and fruitful for the villagers including teachers and school children.
